NEWCASTLE United players Rob Elliot, Dwight Gayle, Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie are offering youngsters the chance of a lifetime to progress both their football and career ambitions on a unique course.

Teenagers, that might have slipped through football’s talent net, also get the chance to study for a BTEC with four of United’s most senior stars also on board to offer expert guidance.

A presentati­on night on February 1 will take place at Northumbri­a University’s Sports central complex at 7.30pm when youngsters get the chance to chat with players and coaches.

A statement from Newcastle Elite Academy read: “The aim of our Student-athlete Football Education programme is to provide the opportunit­y for talented young football players to pursue with a dual career pathway leading to achievable pathways into higher education and sports performanc­e.

“All students will continue in their football developmen­t through our elite football training programme designed and directed by our four premier league profession­al directors, delivered by our highly qualified coaching team with vast experience of working at profession­al football clubs at first team and academy level.

“Our programme will emulate a profession­al football environmen­t consisting of a multi – discipline­d coaching team specialisi­ng in all fields, so that every player can maximise their potential by developing technicall­y/tactically, physically, psychologi­cally and socially.

“Our education programme will further improve the players understand­ing of underlying components contributi­ng to football performanc­e as well as continuing their education pathway.”
