BY CAR: The A189 Killingworth Road is closed for roadworks between West Farm Avenue and A191 Benton Park Road/Freeman Road until July 20. Roadworks are on the A167 Durham Road at Cramer Street, in Gateshead, until February 2. One lane is closed due to roadworks on the A184 Felling Bypass between Heworth Roundabout and White Mare Pool Roundabout until April 30. There are narrow lanes and a speed restriction of 30mph for long-term roadworks on the A19 at A1058 Coast Rd/Silverlink roundabout until March 1, 2019. BY BUS: Timber Beach Road, Sunderland, is closed until mid-February for work on the Northern Spire bridge. A free shuttle service will run every 20 minutes Mon-Sat, 7am and 7pm, from B&Q on Trimdon Street via Queen Alexandra Bridge and Alexandra Avenue. Resurfacing work will take place on the A696 at Newcastle Airport, with closures between 9pm and 4am until Thursday. Go North East 42A buses won’t serve Ponteland Road or Newcastle Airport after 9pm and will be diverted. Services Q1 and Q2 will be unable to serve bus stops on Mill Road, Gateshead due to works until February 2. Please use stops at Gateshead College or Baltic. BY METRO: On Sunday, no trains will run between Byker and Tynemouth in either direction until about 12.30pm, to allow for the renewal of overhead power lines. A replacement bus service, number 900 will be calling at or close to all stations in the affected area. BY TRAIN: No planned works.
