SOPHIE Hodgson and Jenny Bitzer scored hat-tricks for league leaders Durham Cestria, who romped to a 10-0 home win over York City.

Hodgson gave the Cestrians a fifth-minute lead which Bitzer doubled 15 minutes later.

Hodgson netted her second before Molly Holder put the hosts 4-0 up at the break.

Nicola Gibson and Nisha Mistry were both on target before a late flurry of goals.

Bitzer made it 7-0 before Hodgson completed her hat-trick five minutes from time, then four minutes later Bitzer went on to complete her hat-trick before adding a fourth in injury time.

Norton and Stockton Ancients moved into outright second after they eased to a 13-0 victory at bottom side Wakefield.

Anna Mawston found the net five times, Sian Williams on the mark four times during the rout.

Hartlepool United held off a spirited Wallsend BCL fightback before securing a nervy 3-2 victory.

The hosts quickly went 3-0 up, Jess Dawson rounding the goalkeeper after ten minutes before she doubled the lead shortly afterwards.

Dawson turned provider as her low cross to the near post was turned in by Chelsea Basnett after 30 minutes.

The visitors fought on and grabbed a lifeline shortly before the break, Brittany Davison netting.

Wallsend made a great start early in the second half, notching again through Hannah Gosnold.

Both sides had further chances, Dawson going close to completing her hat-trick as the hosts held on for a hard-fought three points.

Durham Cestria continue to lead Norton by nine points but the Teesside outfit has four games in hand.

Goal difference moves Hartlepool above Wallsend into third, two points further adrift, while fifth-placed Tynedale sit a point behind the pair. ■■NEWCASTLE United’s match at Chorley in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division One was called off due to the wintry weather.
