Jennings Ford offering a £500 customer saving in test drive event
A MEMBER of staff at a South Tyneside-based motor dealer group has been given the opportunity to pursue a full-time career in aftersales.
For the past five years, Carl Everett, 22, from South Shields, has been working as a part-time receptionist at Jennings Motor Group’s Ford Direct dealership on Newcastle Road.
Despite leaving Boldon Comprehensive School at the age of 17 with a number of GCSEs and a BTEC in Sport Science under his belt, he decided to start searching for employment and soon secured the part-time role at his local motor dealer.
Although Carl has enjoyed being the first point of contact for customers visiting the South Shields-based dealership, when a vacancy within the busy service department came about, he was keen to learn the ropes as a service adviser, and to take the next step in his career. Working as part of a 22-strong service team, Carl’s new role will see him being responsible for liaising with existing and potential customers both on the telephone and face-to-face in the dealership, liaising with the group’s Contact Centre for service and MoT bookings, scheduling repairs on vehicles, invoicing and general administration duties.
Carl is also scheduled to attend a number of aftersales training courses taking place this year at Ford College in Daventry, which will be beneficial in his day-today role.
The Jennings Ford Direct dealership sells nearly new Ford cars supplied direct from the manufacturer, in addition to providing service, MoT and parts facilities.

Customers wanting to take advantage of Ford’s commercial vehicle range can take a test drive in the Transit Courier, Transit Connect, Transit Custom, New Transit Custom, Transit Chassis Cab, Transit Mini-Bus, Tourneo Custom and Ranger, available at Jennings Ford Transit Centre in Gateshead. Jennings Ford also
