Callum has Don well with brace for Buffs

ASHINGTON RAOB reached the last four of the George Davison Cup with a 2-0 home win over Newsham Victory.

The Buffs went through with a brace from Callum Donohoe - one a diving header in the first half, the second put away from 20 yards.

Amble Tavern progressed to the final of the Eric Anderson Cup after seeing off High Street 9-2.

Craig Muter led the scoring for the home side with a hat-trick, Phil Airey and Josh Hay both nabbing doubles.

Ross Gair and Rob Baker completed the scoring, Chris Laidlaw with both counters for the Street.

Two quarter-finals in the J D Marnock cup were completed - Ashington Station Lounge and Earsdon Red Lion triumphing.

Station Lounge had to rely on a late Alan Gibbard strike at home against Bebside Inn to take the match into extra time after Martin Robinson had put Bebside in front.

A double from Damien Stevens and a Chad Miller finish in extra time saw the Lounge through.

The Red Lion roared to a 3-1 success at Marden Residents.

Chris Ridgeway notched for the Residents, goals for the Lion from Lee Smith, Dale Walton and Matty Newman.

In the Premier Division there were two close games - both home teams prevailing by the odd goal.

Ashington Town Central came through 3-2 against East Chevington.

On target for the Central were Michael Todd, James Convery and Andrew Petts.

Blyth Town Sunday triumphed 2-1 against Bedlington Social Club United.

Ryan McKee and Rob Ridley struck for the Town, Joe Moscrop for the Social Club.

Guidepost Shakespear­e Tavern lost 2-1 at home against Block and Tackle in Division One.
