Scouse hens hope for a swap with Geordie lasses

-

LIVERPOOL hen girls had their night out in Newcastle thrown into chaos by the snow and are looking for a swap.

Friends and family had organised a fun-filled weekend of activities in the city for bride-to-be Catherine Stone, 26.

The party of 18 was going to make the 170-mile journey from Liverpool to Newcastle by minibus on Saturday.

But the heavy snowfall and road closures have put the plans in doubt.

Now in a bid to save the weekend, bridesmaid Jo Penter is asking if any Geordie hen parties who were travelling to the Liverpool area would be interested in swapping.

Jo, 26, said: “We were going to travel by minibus but with all the snow and road closures it looks unlikely we’ll be able to make it.

“It is all booked through a company and we have tried to swap it to Liverpool but we’ve not been able to.

“We looked at other dates but it just isn’t possible and the money isn’t refundable. So, we thought we would try and swap with another hen party.

“If there is anyone who was planning to travel to Liverpool or even Manchester, we could swap.”

The weekend includes a night’s stay at Newcastle’s Hotel Indigo, a meal and booth with drinks at a club, followed by a spa day on Sunday.

Jo said the bride, who will say ‘I do’ on May 19, has been left heartbroken about having to potentially cancel the plans.

She said: “She’s devastated. We have had this planned for ages and was meant to be a surprise for her.”
