Whickham suffer dose of the Blues

PIN POINT JUNIOR LG U-12-U-14 DIVISIONS

MONTAGU Blues defeated Whickham 2-0 to progress in the Under-12 League Cup.

Joining them are Red House Farm Eagles – 5-1 winners over Cramlingto­n Reds – and Wallsend BC Yellows, who beat Newcastle Benfield San Siro 4-2.

Throckley Magpies triumphed 4-1 at Bedlington Eagles in the Challenge Shield and Ponteland CSKA prevailed 2-1 at Montagu Reds.

Also going through were Whitley Bay SC Whites – although they needed a penalty shoot-out to see off Morpeth Town Spartans – and Newcastle East End Blues, who were 8-2 winners against Grainger Park Lions.

In the Challenge Trophy, Blyth Town overcame Seaton Delaval Dynamos 6-3 and Northburn Wanderers triumphed 3-1 on penalties against Whitley Bay SC Yellows after the match had ended 2-2. Newbiggin Hall Real beat West Denton 4-3.

In the Premiershi­p, North Shields overcame Boldon Colts 2-1 and Team Gosforth Ajax saw off Stakeford 1-0. ■■NEWCASTLE Benfield were 3-1 victors at Monkseaton Reds in the Under-13 Premiershi­p.

Cramlingto­n Whites lost 3-0 at Seaton Carew and North Shields triumphed 6-0 at Wallsend BC.

Stakeford enjoyed a 4-0 success over Whitley Bay SC Blues in the League Trophy.

In the League Shield, Blyth Town prevailed 3-1 at Montagu and North Fenham Reds, Ponteland United Munich defeated Berwick Rangers 5-2 and Red House Farm Eagles lost 3-1 to Cramlingto­n Thundercat­s.

Bedlington Knights and Blaydon YC were the big winners in the League Trophy – the Knights overcoming Grainger Park 6-0 and YC 7-1 winners against Kingston Park Rangers. ■■WALLSEND BC Yellows triumphed 6-0 against BlackFyne in the Under-14 Premiershi­p Cup.

In the Challenge Shield, Alnwick Town went through 3-1 against Newcastle East End Blues and Gateshed Redheugh edged past Blakelaw 1-0.

Cramlingto­n United Pumas defeated Wideopen Wolves 3-1 and Cramlingto­n Town Yellows put out West Denton Barca 2-0.

Grainger Park BC Magpies just squeezed past Haydon Bridge 4-3.
