PLACES are now available on Newcastle United Foundation’s Easter Holiday Soccer Schools, which start on April 1.

Open to girls and boys of all abilities from reception up to year nine, the courses will be held at Goals Newcastle, Ponteland Academy, Prudhoe High School, Rutherford AFC, Bedlington Football Factory, Consett AFC, Gateshead Redheugh and Valley Gardens Middle School.

They are run by experience­d, FA Level Two qualified coaches and range in cost from £48-£60.

The winners will face either Berwick Rangers or the victors of the Wallsend BC/Newcastle East End Whites quarter-finals in the decider. ■■PONTELAND United Panthers host Forest Hall tomorrow (1.30) in the last eight of the Global Image Embroidery Sunday Junior Cup.

They will look to join Wideopen and District Under-17s, Cramlingto­n Juniors and Burradon in the semi-finals. ■■THE quarter-finals of the Quadrant Leisure CIC Cubs Cup for under-12 sides are scheduled for tomorrow (1.30).

Ties are: Cramlingto­n Whites v Stakeford, Wallsend Yellows v Montagu and North Fenham Blues, Team Gosforth Ajax v Newcastle Benfield San Siro and Cramlingto­n Town Yellows v Cramlingto­n Juniors Reds. ■■THE semi-finals of the McDonald’s NFA Under-15 Boys Cup are held tomorrow (1.30).

Newcastle City Juniors face Ellington while clubmates Newcastle City Milan take on Wallsend BC. ■■THE semi-final line-up has been confirmed for the Chroniclel­ive Under-19 Cup.

Prudhoe will host Monkseaton and Heaton Manor entertain St Thomas More, with the games due to be played by Easter. ■■THE FA’s 2018 Girls’ Football Week – a national campaign aimed at raising the profile of the game – will run between Monday, April 23 and Sunday, April 29.

Clubs across the region are being urged to become involved in the initiative.

The week will encourage girls of all abilities to take part in football and use the sport as a fun way to stay active.
