A new line-up for Duster
ONE of the UK’s most affordable family models gets a revised line-up for 2018, with masses of features included, although prices still start at just £9,455.
That is for the 1.6-litre petrolpowered Dacia Duster Access SCe entry model with manual transmission, with Air and Nav+ trim and equipment models above it.
The new Air trim version starts at just £10,995 and comes with air conditioning, a DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 16-inch wheels, body-coloured front and rear bumpers, electric front windows, USB and AUX connection and front fog lights.
The new Nav+ trim starts at £13,095 and adds MediaNav Evolution including a seven-inch touchscreen multimedia system and satellite navigation, rear-parking sensors plus camera and 16-inch Tyrol alloy wheels. It also has electric rear windows, heated and electrically-adjustable door mirrors, an on-board computer, leather steering wheel and upmarket Graphite cloth upholstery.
The Access and Air versions of the Duster are offered with Renault’s 1.6 SCe 115bhp petrol engine. The Nav+ versions come with the TCe 125bhp engine and the familiar 1.5litre turbodiesel 110bhp engine that features in so many Renault and Nissan vehicles.
Remarkably for a vehicle costing so relatively little, all versions of the Duster can be ordered with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
The six-speed automatic dualclutch transmission system is available on Nav+ trim mated to the 1.5litre dCi 110bhp turbodiesel engine, costing £15,495. This pairing achieves fuel economy of 60mpg and CO2 emissions of 116g/km.
The new Duster range is available to order from today, with first deliveries from next month.
Dacia already claims that its cars are the least expensive available in the UK, and now there is a special deal on new and existing stocks to reinforce the point.
It means that the Sandero SCe 75 model is on offer over three years for £100 a month, which is just £25 a week, or less than £5 a day.
It is being offered on a personal contract plan with a customer deposit of £1,316 at a finance rate of five per cent.
This makes it a relatively low rate for the buyer, whilst enabling the car company to act as a bank by charging ten times the current base rate.
In the case of the popular Duster Laureate TCe 125bhp two-wheeldrive, there is a deposit of £1,800 including a manufacturer’s contribution of £500, with monthly payments of £180 over three years.
The small crossover Sandero Stepway in Laureate TCe 90 guise requires a deposit of £2,520 followed by payments of £130 per month.
A larger deposit of £3,055 is required for the Logan Stepway, which then costs £140 a month for the Laureate TCe 90 version spread over three years.
