Game of Thrones star spotted during filming on Northumberland coast

-

GAME of Thrones star Jason Momoa has been spotted filming his latest Netflix series in Bamburgh.

The American star, who played Khal Drogo in the HBO mega-series, is recording scenes for the third season of Frontier, a Netflix drama about the American fur trade in the 18th century.

Momoa, who has also played Aquaman in DC Comics’ Justice League, has been reportedly spotted visiting pubs in the picturesque Northumbrian village and filming around its castle and beaches.

Film crew trucks were also seen in Bamburgh on Sunday.

Castle Inn barman Andrew Bird is a huge Game of Thrones fan and had been hoping to catch a glimpse of the first season star, but Andrew has been out of luck.

He said: “I have missed them so far. I know he’s been in the pubs and I have just missed him, with the shifts I’m on being the way they are.

“I know they’re meant to leave on Monday. I’ve watched every [Game of Thrones] season from beginning to end. I’ve seen the first season seven times.”

However, Nigel Coffey managed to get a snap with Momoa in the Lord Crewe.

Bamburgh is no stranger to A-listers. In September 2016 actor Mark Wahlberg played a round at Bamburgh Golf Club while taking a break from filming Transformers.

The Ted star also attended Mass at St Aidan’s Church in Seahouses.
