Dawson to the four in big win for Portrack

NORTH EAST CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP LEAGUE

-

YAV SIFF gave up their home advantage to enable their Premier Division clash with Stockton Churches Portrack to be played.

However, the switch did them no favours as Marc Dawson opened the scoring in the 15th minute for the Teessiders.

Two goals in the space of minutes after half an hour from Charlie Inman and Dawson took the half-time score to 3-0.

In the second period Dawson went on to claim two more, upping his tally to four.

Inman grabbed a second and Alex Fawcett celebated a double as Portrack ran out impressive 8-0 winners.

In Division One, Saint Charles RC Church Gosforth picked themselves up from last week, when they threw away a two-goal lead to end up with a draw.

However, the start of their match with Saint John’s Snod’s Edge also started badly.

Charles’ goalkeeper went to clear - only to pass the ball to Ross Wilson to give Saint John’s the advantage after ten minutes.

It took Saint Charles 15 minutes to equalise courtesy of Phil Moore.

After the hour Saint Charles took control and Duncan Falconer fired them in front.

The match then hit a lull but in the last five minutes Saint John’s won a succession of corners and free-kicks to test Charles’ nerves.

In the last minute, with a another corner to defend, Saint John’s sent their goalkeeper up to try and find the equaliser - only to see Saint Charles clear the ball.

Jordan Mole collected it and ran half the length of the pitch to tuck the ball into a empty net and finish the game as Saint Charles emerged 3-1 winners.

Stockton Salvation Army faced Colburn Corinthians and it took less than a minute for James Lile to get Stockton off the mark.

He followed this up after another five minutes for 2-0 - Tom Pilkington then scored after seven minutes, Nathan Wilson on 14 and James Zielinski on 16 minutes.

Callum Cooke struck on 24 minutes, Wilson notching his second and Ashley Smith then netting for 8-0.

Ryan Anderson found the net and Wilson completed his hat-trick as Army led 10-0 at half-time.

The Teessiders added another seven after the break through Wilson, Cooke (2), Marcus Cooke, David Higgins, Mark Norester and Ryan Tidy.
