HAVE THE PREMIER LEAGUE BROKEN RULES BY ANNOUNCING THE CHANGE SO LATE?

NO. The Football Supporters Federation claim on their website that the Premier League have always said they aim to give supporters six weeks. Today’s fixture change leave fans with less than a month to rearrange travel plans - however the Premier League doesn’t confirm the six week deadline. The FSF have called the fixture change a ‘nightmare’.

SO CAN I GET A REFUND FOR MATCHDAY TICKETS?

NEWCASTLE United have confirmed they will offer refunds to anyone not able to make the rescheduled date – but only for matchday tickets.

BUT WHAT ABOUT MY TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION?

THAT is down to the travel company and hotel firms. The Premier League do not offer refunds, as their website states.

“Refund requests for travel, accommodation or other related expenses can only be made through the company that sold you the product or service. With this in mind, we recommend only booking flexible travel or hotel accommodation, or obtaining suitable insurance to protect against any changes.”

Everton have said they will “liaise directly with all affiliated international Supporters’ Clubs that have purchased tickets for the game, as well as any domestic Supporters’ Clubs that travel to home games by coach, to assist with issues arising from the timing of the announcement.”
