We cannot play these war games

-

WAR is a serious matter not to be taken lightly, yet Western leaders are playing dangerous games with our security and our lives.

The current situation between Russia, Syria and the West could, if not sorted, soon lead to a disastrous world war.

The current situation in Syria could have been nipped in the bud right at the start if the Labour party under Ed Miliband had supported our Government and the USA in taking action against Assad before Russia had intervened.

Instead we have stood by for years and allowed the situation to worsen. Russia, Syria and Iran have been given free range to kill men women and children at will.

NATO has done nothing, which proves yet again that it is a toothless tiger relying on a handful of its members, America, Britain, France and Australia, to defend the West while they sit back counting all the money that they should have spent on defences but didn’t.

On the other side of the coin,

Russia and Iran have been building up their armed forces at an alarming rate while laughing at NATO countries, some of which would rather spend their money on trivial pursuits instead of protection of their own people.

Many in the West, including politicians, have been far too busy mocking President Trump instead of focusing on the real dangers that we now face.

It is now time to stand together as a family of nations and hopefully convince Russia that we need a peaceful solution to the Syrian problem, not a war. ALAN PIPER, UKIP supporter
