Trio’s return set to bowl Blyth over!

BLYTH welcome Ponteland in Division Two tomorrow, both sides fielding changed teams to last week.

Blyth have a trio of players available after they missed the opening-day defeat at Annfield Plain.

Opener Will Asher, batsman David Ebdale and bowler Surj Singh will make their season debuts – but Blyth will be without the services of Gary Quinn.

Ponteland are without last weekend’s matchwinne­r Stuart Taylor, while Ben Harris, Johnny Mole and Ifi Fazal are also unavailabl­e.

The quartet are replaced by Dave Waters, wicketkeep­er Dan Wright, Ed Common and Joe Boaden.

Tillside host Morpeth tomorrow with a new captain in place for the home team.

Liam Hindmarsh has left the club to play for Edinburgh side Watsonians, with vice-captain Luke Dickson stepping up.

However, there is a big boost for Tillside, who make three changes to the side which lost at Bates Cottages last week, with Jake Birkett, Law Atkinson and Dickson all returning.

Bates Cottages travel to Alnwick full of confidence after their crushing opening-day victory.

The two sides are looking for an improved season and a good start after Bates finished second bottom with Alnwick, who lost at Ponteland last weekend, just above them last season.

Bedlington will look to secure a second success in their home match against Cowgate.

Bedlington took maximum points last week while Cowgate lost at home at to Leadgate.

One side will keep their unbeaten record intact when Leadgate welcome Annfield Plain tomorrow.
