NORTHUMBER­LAND and Tyneside Cricket League side Blyth held their annual presentati­on night in the clubhouse.

New first XI captain Andy Kemp collected the league and League Cup awards.

The first XI batting award went to Andy Ebdale, the bowling honours to Will Asher and the Graeme Smith Award for the fastest 50 to Gary Quinn.

The second XI batting award went to Richard Glass, the bowling prize to 12-year-old Alfie Clark, who claimed 30 wickets.

The youngster also lifted the divisional award.

The George Sheil Shield for the fastest 50 went to Gary Cotterill.

■■TYNEMOUTH Sailing Club will be offering free taster sessions on Saturday as part of a special open day.

The club is taking part in the Royal Yachting Associatio­n’s Push The Boat Out campaign which aims to encourage more people to take up sailing.

■■ROLLER derby men’s outfit Tyne and Fear have announced their first ever shirt sponsorshi­p with Newcastle-based British Caravans.

Tyne and Fear’s next home game is on June 9 at The Lakeside Centre, Killingwor­th, where they will take on Lincolnshi­re Rollin’ Thunder and Tyne and Fear’s Inglorious B’Stars will face Wirral Pack Animals.

■■TYNEDALE claimed a 34-24 victory over Astley A in Division One of the Northumber­land Ladies Spring Netball League.

There were also wins for Medics (37-34 against Wansbeck A and 42-14 against Concordia A) and Wansbeck A (64-33 at Astley B).

■■PINK Panthers and Acme Rollin share top spot with six points in the Consett Premiershi­p Division of the Soccer Sixes’ Six-a-Side Football League. Snoring Lisbon Academy are in third.

■■WHITLEY Bay and Tynnemouth Hockey Club’s ladies team ended their Premier League campaign in second place.

The senior men’s squad ended up 10th in the Premier League and therefore just escaped relegation.

■■NEW Hartley Juniors progressed into the final of the Sunderland Eye Infirmary Cup with a 1-0 success over Stockton.

Kieron Brannion registered the decisive goal a minute into the second period.

■■RIVERSIDE triumphed 20-2 at Wansbeck in the Tyne and Wear Junior Netball League’s Under-12 Division.

In the Under-16 Division, Wansbeck were 27-5 victors against Gateshead.
