Byron puts on a five-star show to send the Magpies flying high

THE top two both registered victories - but it was fourth-placed Felling Magpies who took the scoring credits with an 11-0 hammering of Newcastle East End.

Adam Byron helped himself to five goals as the visitors went nap, further counters added by Ryan Heron, Ryan Daley, Aiden Willis, Lewis Gorman, Alex Turnbull and Mark McClannan.

Leaders Hazlerigg won 4-0 at Cullercoat­s, Coulson and Noble registerin­g in the first half and Martin Soulsby adding a secondperi­od brace to wrap up the points.

Newcastle Chemfica prevailed 2-1 at New Fordley.

Red Row Welfare registered a 5-1 victory at Cramlingto­n Town as Max Anderson gave the visitors the advantage on the half-hour.

Liam Jefferson added Welfare’s second as time ticked towards the hour mark.

In the second period Adam Shanks notched their third and Luke Baston made it four before Paul Middleton pulled a goal back.

Shanks had the last word, however, with his second - and the visitors’ fifth - two minutes from time.

Seaton Burn came from a goal down to triumph at Gosforth Bohemians.

They led through Jack Robson in the first half before strikes from George Addicott, Arman Mirkarimi and Liam Hall turned the game.

Wallsend Boys Club came through 4-2 at Hexham, for whom Kurtis Harvey and Michael Robson netted.

Wallsend claimed the points through Darryl Basham, Callum Ancrum, Will Jarvis-Smith and an own goal.
