STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – THROUGH THE MIRROR #1

THE Mirror Universe has been responsible for some of the very best Trek stories, case in point publisher IDW’s Mirror Broken.

Last year’s miniseries was so popular, a sequel – The Next Generation: Through the Mirror – has been written to quench fans’ thirst.

Expect battles, drama and goatee beards aplenty as the crew of ISS Enterprise cross into our universe in search of new worlds to conquer.

Written by David and Scott Tipton, with art by Chris Johnson and J. K. Woodward, Through the Mirror #1 is out now, priced £3.35.

TWIST IN THE TALE

WHILE no-one was looking, it appears M. Night Shyamalan, right, has created a crossover event of his own.

Glass is very much shaping up to be the Avengers: Infinity War of the writer/director’s own cinematic universe. The film has been years in the planning sees characters from 2000’s Unbreakable set on a collision course with those in 2016’s Split.

Footage debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week, where Shyamalan was joined on stage by Samuel L Jackson – who returns as Unbreakable’s Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass, for whom the film is named – Bruce Willis, James McAvoy and Sarah Paulson.

Glass is set to hit cinemas in January next year.

BACK TO THE DWARF

THE final episode of Red Dwarf XII was so beautifully done, you’d have been forgiven for thinking it was the show’s final bow.

But now it’s confirmed that Lister, Rimmer, Kryten and the Cat, below, will be back in 2019.

Speaking at the inaugural Thames Con convention in Oxfordshire on Monday, Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules confirmed filming for the new series will begin early next year.
