Why Lacey always has Elvis on her mind
MEET the five-year-old Elvis fan guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Lacey Fish, from Ashington, dances and sings along to classics from the King of Rock and Roll. Her mum Louise Emery, 26, wanted to share her daughter’s passion for the superstar. Lacey was introduced to the King by her grandad David Fish, 59, and being a fan clearly runs in the family. Louise said: “Lacey’s just Elvis mad. She must’ve been about three when it first came about. “Her grandad has taken her to see an Elvis tribute act and he got her the costume too and it’s just come from there. “Teddy Bear is definitely her favourite song at the moment but before that it was Burning Love and Return to Sender.” Elvis Presley’s legacy lives on through his music four decades after his death in 1977 at the age
of 42. Your typical five-year-old is much more likely to listen to Little Mix or Ariana Grande, but Lacey would like to have her own blue suede shoes and to visit Elvis’ Graceland mansion in the United States.
Her sisters Evie, seven, and Lola, eight months, also buck the trend.
Louise said: “Lacey’s been asking for a pair of blue suede shoes so we’re going to see if we can find her a small pair.
“Everyone says it’s quite unusual for her to like that sort of music at her age.
“Her older sister likes Tina Turner as well so they are not really into the usual music you would expect.”
In fact, the whole family have become Elvis fans as a result of listening to Lacey’s favourite tunes.
Louise, who works in customer care at the Alan Shearer Centre, has set up a YouTube channel to share videos of her daughter and even sent off an application to next year’s Britain’s Got Talent.
She has also had lots of supportive comments after posting clips on Facebook.
Louise said: “Lacey’s only in reception but she just sings and dances all the time.
“She’s a natural performer who loves to entertain and to make people smile.
“We see it in her from the moment she wakes up in the morning to the moment she goes to bed.”
