Nuisance neighbour kicked out

Reporter A NUISANCE neighbour who caused havoc in her community due to her excessive noise and disorder at all hours has been evicted.

Stacey Hassan was forced to leave the three-bed property on Brixham Crescent, Jarrow, following complaints about anti-social behaviour.

A judge at South Shields County Court heard trouble started shortly after Hassan moved to the street in May 2015, with neighbours having to endure disturbances throughout the night.

Reports of screaming, shouting, swearing, fights spilling into the street, dogs barking and car doors slamming, were made on a number of occasions.

There were also reports of damage to vehicles and windows, numerous visitors coming and going at all hours and erratic driving.

Despite several warnings and opportunities to moderate her behaviour, the disturbances continued.

A possession order was secured on January 24 with an order for Hassan to leave the property by February 21.

But when Hassan failed to leave, South Tyneside Council made an application for a bailiff ’s warrant to evict, which was carried out this week.

A spokesperson for the authority said: “Hassan’s behaviour, and that of visitors to her property, has had a real negative impact on the quality of life for people living in the area.

“They have had to endure many sleepless nights and this is just not acceptable.

“We make it quite clear to tenants from the outset that this sort of behaviour puts them in breach of their tenancy agreement. “Seeking possession of someone’s home is always a last resort but when the situation failed to improve we were left with no other option but to pursue the matter through the courts.

“We hope that this enforcement action offers some respite to the local community.”
