MARSKE United just need one point from tomorrow’s home game against Newcastle Benfield to claim a second Northern League Division One title.

The Seasiders moved three points clear of Morpeth Town with a 3-0 home win against a North Shields.

Goals from Peter Bulmer, Mikey Roberts and James Fairley were enough to see off the Robins and take Carl Jarrett’s side to within touching distance of the title.

Jarrow Roofing were condemned to relegation into Division Two after they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Sunderland RCA.

Roofing took the lead midway through the first-half thanks to a goal from Liam Anderson.

However, second-half goals Dylan Elliott and Michael Charlton and a Stephen Callen brace condemned Roofing to the drop.

Shildon remain in fifth place after an own goal and strikes from Billy Greulich-Smith and Jamie Harwood helped them to a 3-1 win at Ryhope CW.

Blyth AFC will have to wait until tomorrow to seal the Division One title after Ryan Cummings scored the only goal of the game to hand Willington all three points.

Crook Town were beaten 3-0 at ‘home’ by Heaton Stanningto­n.

Bedlington Terriers ensured that Alnwick Town will finish bottom of the table after there secured a 3-1 win at St James Park.

The Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup Final will be between Bishop Auckland and Dunston UTS.

Northaller­ton Town were denied the chance to win a third consecutiv­e Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup after they were beaten by Chester-le-Street Town.

Their opponents will be Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.
