BLYTH Spartans Reserves wrapped up the title in style with a comfortable 7-1 home win over high-flying Cramlington United.

The Spartans, in their first year in the Northern Alliance, have only lost once in the league all season.

They had striker Karl Lazzari to thank for the goals which helped them on their way - his hat-trick at the weekend taking him to 33 for the season in the league alone.

Alongside Lazzari there were also counters for Owen Davison, Andy Murray, Tom Bailey and Tyler Scarth.

United replied midway through the second period through Luke Taylor, Spartans’ victory ensuring they maintained a ten-point gap on their nearest rivals and with two games in hand.

Prudhoe Youth Club strengthened their grip on second place with a narrow 2-1 success at Whitley Sporting Club.

Darren Graham afforded them the lead midway through the first half, Liam Blythe equalising for the hosts with seven minutes remaining.

However, two minutes later, Prudhoe went straight to the other end to snatch what proved to be the winner hrough Ben Bloomer.

Bedlington, still in third, fell to a 2-0 reverse at Blyth Town, for whom Chris Lisle and Adam Johnson notched second-half goals.

Winlaton, still with hopes of finishing second and with two games in hand, kept up the pressure with a 3-0 result at Willington Quay Saints.

Dean Hall opened the scoring early in the first half before a secondperiod double from Scott Palmer ensured the points.

Coundon defeated visitors Wideopen 3-2 as strikes from Shaw, Woodfine and Willis gave the hosts the points.

The visitors replied via a brace from Gallen.

A first-half Sam Johnson double gave Blyth FC a 2-0 verdict at Spittal Rovers and the game between Seghill and Whitburn finished 1-1.
