DJ’s death inspires club to raise cash for charity

-

A CLUB is planning a special tribute to platinum-selling DJ and music producer Avicii after his shock death last month.

The 28-year-old scored massive hits the world over with songs like Levels, Hey Brother and huge number one Wake Me Up.

And on Friday, May 18, Digital will host Elektrqia: Tribute to Avicii with all money going to mental health charity Mind.

Announcing the event on Facebook, organisers posted: “After a conversation between ourselves & Lonz (Photography) we both felt that at tribute event to a legend like Avicii should be done.

“So with the right intentions in mind and not to make any commercial profit at all, we decided on putting a plan together for a party to beat all parties and one that the entire pot goes to support Men’s Mental Health Charities, to help other people in need for support and advice before it gets the better of them.

“Join us to celebrate the life of one of EDM’s most talented & influential producers and DJs, probably one of the main artists to influence Elektriqa to begin in the first place back in 2012 with Calvin Harris, a night to relive the good old days back at Digital, our birthplace, together with a return for our original resident Felix Leiter together with a full length guest line up to be announced soon!”

Tickets are £5 and available online now from Fatsoma.
