TYING THE WINDSOR KNOT

THE WINDSORS ROYAL WEDDING SPECIAL Channel 4, 9pm

MEGHAN Markle is looking at a Suits script and Prince Harry is attempting to propose. Oh, if only we were flies on the walls of Kensington Palace and could see what the royals get up to. As is stands, this royal soap opera will have to do. This time it whizzes through the imagined wedding drama in the run up to the real-life big day on Saturday. Kathryn Drysdale plays the American actress, who just won’t stop shrieking as Harry (Richard Goulding) stammers through his proposal.

Very soon the couple are being interviewed on Breakfast-USA. What are Harry’s stag party plans?

“I’ve calmed down a lot since I met Meghan,” he says, “So I’ll probably just go: night club, strip club, casino, brothel.”

There are brilliant jokes all the way through this fast-paced comedy, many of which would likely touch a nerve with the real royals.

In other news, Kate (Louise Ford) wants Wills (Hugh Skinner) to get the snip. She’s also worried about losing the baby weight before having to fit into her maid of honour dress.

Pippa (Morgana Robinson) offers to help, but in her rage about ex-boyfriend Harry’s impending nuptials, she has nefarious motives. Prince Charles (Harry Enfield) must travel to America to meet Meghan’s mum, and Beatrice and Eugenie launch a wedding fashion vlog. Watch out for Paul Kaye in a cameo as the Trampcatcher, clearing the streets for the big day.
