BY CAR: The A189 Killingworth Road in Newcastle is closed between West Farm Avenue and A191 Benton Park Road/Freeman Road.

The A184 Felling Bypass either side of Heworth roundabout in Gateshead is down to a single lane due to roadworks.

Speed restrictions are in place due to roadworks on the A19 and A1058 at the Silverlink roundabout.

There will be an RAF parade in Newcastle city centre road on Saturday. Several roads — including Percy Street and Blackett Street — will be closed between 11.30am and 12.30pm.

BY BUS: Due to inspection and maintenance works, the A69 will be closed between West Denton Interchange and the A1 roundabout from 7pm on Saturday until 7am on Sunday. Stagecoach services 10, 39, 40, X82, 685, 675 and Arriva service 685 will be diverted and will not stop on the West Road after the A1 roundabout.

Newgate Street in Newcastle is closed until May 18 between Clayton Street and Gallowgate as the road is widened – buses will not be able to stop on this road.

Bus stops on Cherry Blossom Way and Nissan Way in Washington are out of use. Routes 56 and 56A are diverted from Washington Road via Spire Road (Peel retail park).
