Will Cheryl waltz into new show?

-

DOUBTS have been cast over Cheryl’s rumoured X Factor return.

It was previously believed that the Geordie singer would be making a big comeback on the show alongside boss Simon Cowell, but now new reports suggest otherwise.

Rumours have been circulating that Cheryl has been signed up to a new BBC One show that could go head-tohead with the ITV singing competition.

The Mail on Sunday claims the Newcastle-born 34-year-old will mentor dancers on The Greatest Dancer.

And the show could be airing during the primetime Saturday night slot on BBC One, meaning it might go head-tohead with The Voice on ITV.

The new dance show has been created by Simon Cowell’s production company Syco and is the first time he has partnered with the BBC after 14 years of creating talent shows for ITV.

A source told the newspaper: “She has done The X Factor lots of times and she wants something new and fresh.

“Starring on The X Factor would undoubtedly have helped push that, but she also has her son Bear to think about in terms of how much time she spends working.”

The newspaper went on to say Simon loves working with Cheryl and that they have a “love-hate relationship”.

An X Factor source also told the publication that the “feeling was mutual” and that Simon had wanted Cheryl to do the dance show but not X Factor.

These rumours come after Cheryl was named as the favourite to replace Nicole Scherzinger after her shock axing earlier this year.
