GEORDIE singer Cheryl has opened up about her beauty regime and the efforts she put into her appearance after becoming a mum.

The star said it took six months for her to “feel human again” after the arrival of her son with Liam Payne, 24, whom they named Bear.

Speaking to Hello magazine, Cheryl, 34, said: “When I was pregnant I had pigmentation on my face so I wanted to start to correct that.

“I would say my beauty regime came back after about six months. That’s how long it takes to start feeling human again.”

The singer also said she understands the importance of finding time to pamper yourself after becoming a mother.

“You realise how much you need to take care of yourself and you respect your body a lot more for what it can do – I do, anyway. Taking care of your skin can make you feel good,” she added.

“And if your skin’s good, your make-up looks so much better. It makes all the difference.

“Instead of trying to mask problems with make-up, it’s a doddle if your skin’s hydrated, plump and primed.”

Cheryl also told how she falls victim to body insecurities and shared her top beauty tips for feeling good.

“I have dark circles and the pigmentation from pregnancy takes a long time to fade,” she said. “I used a corrector by SkinCeuticals – it does work, it just needs time.

“In general, I think a lot of people overuse products. You only need a tiny bit of serum and a tiny bit of moisturiser because your skin can only absorb so much.

“And you have to do what’s right for your skin type – don’t buy into something just because someone else loves it. You might have oily skin and they might have dry.”

The star also touched on how she manages parenthood amid hectic schedules –by calling on the grandparents.

“I just plan ahead,” she said. “I’m quite organised when it comes to the baby because I have to be. And if I plan, then I can book in the grandparents.”
