DURHAM Under-15s enjoyed two victories and one loss in the Inter-County T20 Cup at Nottinghamshire’s Worksop College.

In the opening game Durham secured a 30-run victory over Derbyshire.

Durham were inserted after losing the toss, finding themselves 40-3 in the early stages.

However, 23 from Atticus Garlick in 19 balls and 25 from Sameer Awan in 16 balls steadied the ship.

Tiwari and Scott both added 13 each, Durham eventually posting 133-9 from 20 overs.

Archie Clayton (3-18), Jimmy Lawston (2-14) and Charlie Wilson (2-15) were Derbyshire’s wicket-takers.

In reply Derbyshire struggled to get going, thanks to a tight opening spell of 3-14 from Josh Leslie.

Alex Haleem stuck around until the 18th over with 54 from 41 balls - but once the No 3 was dismissed Derbyshire were bowled out for just 103 in 17.4 overs. Jamie Wills bagged 2-8 for Durham.

In the second game Durham were edged out by Lincolnshire by just one run.

Lincolnshire elected to bat after winning the toss, losing both openers for less than five - but a middle-order partnership of 72 between Josh Knopton (40) and Olly Creswell (28) steered them to 113-3 from 20 overs.

Durham lost wickets regularly in their reply.

Six were needed off the last over but, despite 16 not out from Wills, Lincolnshire edged home by the narrowest of margins.

In the final game, Durham secured a nine-wicket success over Nottingham.

After being asked to field. Durham were instantly in control as Notts slipped to 9-4 and 33-5.

James Garraghan starred with the ball with 3-5 from 3.2 while Tiwari (2-14) also impressed as Notts were bowled out for 71.

Despite losing Harry Crawshaw for 19, Durham cruised to victory in 12.5 overs as Lucas Parry amassed an unbeaten 22 from just 31 balls.
