THE Under-15 Blake Cup Final between John Spence and Whitley Bay was eventful.

Plenty of goals, penalties, the game swinging one way and then back again, extra time and heartbreak for Bay at the end.

Bay took an early lead but they were soon pegged back and then went 2-1 down before half-time.

Whitley equalised but John Spence then went 3-2 up.

Just as it seemed as if the game was going to finish that way, Bay levelled with five minutes left and then took the lead.

Just as it seemed as though they had won, however, John Spence equalised just before full-time.

Extra time was just as tight but it was John Spence who notched two goals in the second half of the additional time to take the honours 6-4.
