Police in appeal for help over train rant

-

DETECTIVES have launched a CCTV appeal after a woman and her teenage daughter were abused on a train from Newcastle.

The 46-year-old mother was with her daughter on a Northern Rail service from Newcastle to Carlisle when they were subjected to a barrage of abuse by a man.

Officers say that a “group of loud men” got on their train at Newcastle, with the foul-mouthed man sitting next to the teen.

When her mum asked the man to move seats, he unleashed a torrent of abuse at the pair before getting off at Carlisle.

A CCTV image of a man police want to speak to in connection with the incident has now been released by British Transport Police, who are urging anyone who knows them to get in touch.
