Reporter THIS group of youngsters got their toddle on to raise money for the Sunshine Fund.

Organised by Busy Bees Nursery, the sponsored toddle was in aid of the Sunshine Fund’s annual Go Bananas campaign, which takes place every June.

It aims to raise money to buy specialist equipment for local disabled children who need it.

The Go Bananas toddle walk is popular, with families turning out at the Cobalt Business Park to cheer on the children.

Nursery manager Victoria Soloman said it was once again pleased to be supporting the charity with the Go Banana’s Toddle.

She said: “Our families and staff at Busy Bees always love this event and we always have a wonderful morning together with a nature hunt, face-painting and lovely refreshments afterwards.

“Hopefully with this great event we will continue to raise lots of money for local children and make a difference to their lives.”

Youngsters were given an extra treat when the event’s sponsors, intu Eldon Square and Metrocentre, sent along Sherbet the Metrognome to meet everyone.

Lauren Thompson, fundraiser for the Sunshine Fund, thanked the nursery for their continued support.

“The team at Busy Bees are absolutely amazing and we can’t thank them enough for their time and support in hosting their annual toddle,” she added. “We love seeing all of the pictures from the day and it looks as though the kids and parents had great fun, as did Sherbet.”
