Colback received loan offers last summer but did not find any attractive enough, before he finally secured a temporary move to Nottingham Forest in January. He then alleged Benitez had treated him like a “number rather than a human being”.
There is no way back for Colback. Even if he isn’t sold or sent out on loan this summer, he will not be reintegrated into the first-team squad.
