Sugar comments tongue in cheek

-

I WENT to the Eric Burdon concert on Saturday evening at the City Hall.

Excellent concert but marred by it starting 40 minutes late. This appears to be the norm now at rock concerts, which I believe is disrespectful to the audiences. HOWARD GOLD I HAVE decided that this country – or a lot of people in it – have gone stark staring bonkers.

Can anybody in the real world please explain to me that what Alan Sugar said concerning the Senegalese football team was in any way racist or offensive.

Have any of the people condemning him actually asked the team if they were offended by it?

If they are like footballers in most parts of the world when The Sage, The Baltic And the Museums Are all taking part Art, design and inovation Will be on display The magic of adventure Will pay and inovate And drama will shine The gigs the festivals The spirit and endeavours Will all reflect our flare And great imagination they see it they will probably have a bloody good laugh.

I wish these people would switch off their computers, get out of their darkened rooms, go outside into the sunlight and start enjoying their lives. It’s about time they stopped being offended on other people’s behalves. Most people recognise when something is said a bit tongue in cheek. I suppose most of these idiots won’t be happy until George Orwell’s 1984 is the norm.
