BY ROAD:

Killingworth Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth roundabout and West Farm Avenue until 2019 to widen the road.

There are narrow lanes and a speed restriction of 30mph due to long term roadworks on the A19 at the Silverlink Roundabout. This is until March 1 2019.

There are roadworks on the A1114 Riverside Way in both directions, near Delta Bank Road in Gateshead, until July 13.

Temporary traffic lights are in operation and roadworks on the A692 between Brooms Lane, Pont Lane, St Ives’ Road and the A693 until July 2. BY BUS:

Blackett Street will be closed every weekend from June 30 to September 2 during the Great Exhibition of the North. Buses will call at nearby stops in the city centre instead.

A section of Wallsend High Street will close between 5am and 7pm today for the Wallsend Festival. Service 22 will run to Wallsend High Street West before diverting via Station Road, Buddle Street, Park Road, re-joining the normal route at Wallsend High Street East.

Route 700 will miss its stop at West Sunniside, Sunderland city centre, from 6pm on Wednesday, 4 July until Sunday, 8 July, to allow staging of the annual Sunniside Music Festival. Buses will instead call at the stop outside Hackett Property on Athenaum Street. BY METRO:
