BY CAR:

Killingworth Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth roundabout and West Farm Avenue until 2019 to widen the road.

There are narrow lanes and a speed restriction of 30mph due to long-term roadworks on the A19 at the Silverlink Roundabout. This is until March 1, 2019.

There are roadworks on the A1114 Riverside Way in both directions, near Delta Bank Road in Gateshead, until July 13.

BY BUS:

There will be various road closures in Sunderland until Saturday for the Tall Ships event. Buses will be following diversion routes near the sea front.

Blackett Street will be closed every weekend until September 2 during the Great Exhibition of the North. Buses will call at nearby stops in the city centre instead.

A section of the A69 will be closed in both directions from the A1 to the West Denton Interchange for resurfacing works on Saturday from 7pm until 7am. Bus services 10, 39, 40, X82 and 685 will not stop on West Road after the A1 roundabout. Stops on the diversion route will not be observed until Hillhead Road.

Bus stops on Cherry Blossom Way and Nissan Way in Barmston, Washington, are out of use until August. Early morning journeys on routes 56 and 56A are diverted from Washington Road via Spire Road (Peel retail park).
