CARRY ON CRUISING
MORE Brits than ever are discovering the joys of a holiday at sea – a record 1,971,000 passengers sailed on an ocean cruise in 2017, up 4.3% year on year.
Research by industry body CLIA UK and Ireland also showed cruising held its share of the overall UK holiday market last year at just over 4%, and slightly under 11% of overseas package holidays.
CLIA UK and Ireland director Andy Harmer said that “it’s highly likely the total for 2018 will surpass two million for the first time”.
