BY CAR:

Killingwor­th Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth roundabout and West Farm Avenue until 2019 to widen the road.

There are narrow lanes and a speed restrictio­n of 30mph due to long-term roadworks on the A19 at the Silverlink Roundabout. This is until March 1, 2019. BY BUS:

Claremont Road, Newcastle will be closed between Queen Victoria Road and Barras Bridge from 10pm to 6am for five nights for scaffoldin­g work. Buses will divert on Queen Victoria Road or the Central Motorway.

Station Lane, Birtley, will be closed for resurfacin­g between 7pm and 6am for three nights. Service 28’s last two journeys to and from Chester-le-Street will be unable to serve Perkinsvil­le or Ouston and will divert between Pelton and Birtley via the A693 bypass and A167. Service 28B will operate from Chester-le-Street to Ouston Road Ends then via Greenford Lane, Moormill Lane, Lamesley Road and North Road to Birtley War Memorial.

Blackett Street in Newcastle will be closed every weekend until September 2 during the Great Exhibition of the North. Buses will call at nearby stops in the city centre.

Bus stops on Cherry Blossom Way and Nissan Way in Barmston, Washington, are out of use until August. Early morning journeys on routes 56 and 56A are diverted from Washington Road via Spire Road. BY METRO:
