YOUTUBER FACES FILM BAN
PRANKSTER WHO CLIMBED TYNE BRIDGE IN COURT FOR OTHER STUNT
A YOUTUBER who filmed himself scaling the Tyne Bridge could be banned from shooting clips in the future.
Prankster Ally Law has appeared in court over allegations he broke into the Celebrity Big Brother House in January.
The 21-year-old has amassed over 1.4 million YouTube followers thanks to his videos, which include the Tyne Bridge climb. But police want him banned from owning a camera phone as part of a Criminal Behaviour Order he’s dubbed “ridiculous”.
The joker has now crowdfunded almost £30,000 from fans for legal fees to fight the order, which could only be imposed if convicted.
“They are trying to strip my basic human rights away from me,” Law claimed on a GoFundMe page. “I am not a criminal at all.
“I make these videos to entertain others – I get hundreds of messages every single day telling me how much the videos have helped them.”
He claims he’s turned to crowdfunding after his clip-making left him £150,000 in debt.
He appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to face two allegations of aggravated trespass at Elstree Film Studios in Borehamwood on the night of Friday, January 26.
Law, of Hepworth Close in Southampton, entered no plea. Co-accused Ryan Taylor, 25, of Lichfield Road in Walsall, also entered no plea. The pair were bailed to re-appear at the court on August 21 for a plea hearing.
If convicted, the police will also seek an order against Law which could also see him banned from several theme parks, including Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, as well as the London Eye.
Northumbria Police took no action over the Tyne Bridge video.
The Chronicle contacted Law for comment but he didn’t respond.
He previously told the publication after the Tyne Bridge climb that he hadn’t known the iconic bridge existed until recently.
