BY CAR:

Killingwor­th Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth roundabout and West Farm Avenue until 2019 to widen the road. There are narrow lanes and a speed restrictio­n of 30mph due to long-term roadworks on the A19 at the Silverlink Roundabout. This is until March 1, 2019.

Norham Road bridge in North Shields is closed due to roadworks. Due to the Sunderland Airshow this weekend, Whitburn Road, along the seafront, will be closed to all traffic. Other streets in the Roker area will be shut to vehicles other than those driven by residentia­l/business permit-holders.

BY BUS:

On Sunday, between 7am and 6pm, the Newcastle City HSBC Bike Ride will take place, with a number of closures including Eldon Square Bus Station. Check with your bus company for details of diversions.

Blackett Street, Newcastle will be closed every weekend until September during the Great Exhibition of the North. Buses will use nearby stops.

Bus stops on Cherry Blossom Way and Nissan Way in Barmston, Washington, are out of use until August. Early morning journeys on routes 56 and 56A are diverted from Washington Road via Spire Road.

Norham Road bridge in North Shields is closed until late August, routes 310 and W3 are being diverted.

BY METRO:

On Saturday, August 4, there will be no trains between Benton and St James after approximat­ely 7.30pm. A replacemen­t bus service will run between Four Lane Ends and Monument via Whitley Bay.

All trains will stop systemwide after 10.30pm until approximat­ely 11am on Sunday August 5, when a replacemen­t bus service will run on Sunday morning.
