BILL Quay hope to return to winning ways in Division One and ease their relegation worries - when they welcome thirdplaced Esh Winning tomorrow.

Quay secretary Chris Little said: “We are hoping to arrest our bad form of recent weeks, which has seen us dragged right back into the fight at the bottom of the league.

“We were comprehensively outplayed by Horden last week.

“The scores ended up flattering us, to be honest, Horden losing late wickets as they tried to beat the weather.”

Esh secretary Brian Gott said: “Our aim now is to try and put a good run of wins together, rather than repeating our inconsistent performances of late.”

Second-placed Crook, meanwhile, bid to complete a league double over tomorrow’s opponents Durham City.

Crook secretary Alan Stewart said: “City are up and down at the minute, they win some games but then lose others they are expected to win.

“Hopefully we can replicate our win against them earlier in the season.

“We drew at the weekend due to the weather, but we will continue to try to catch Easington as the gap is not insurmountable.”

Leaders Easington travel to Whiteleas.

Secretary Peter Booth said: “We hope to keep our winning run going but we will not take anything for granted against second-bottom Whiteleas.”

Leas skipper Nathan Ullah is remaining positive, saying: “There is still a lot of cricket to be played and we have seven huge games to put in really big performances.

“There are no easy games but we have shown on our day we can compete with anyone.

“We are without batsmen Owen Peterson, Alan Beadle and all-rounder Grant Parkin for the clash but Lewis Surtees, Ryan Hale and Chris Nichol all return.”

Philadelphia host fourth-placed Seaham Park without captain Shaun Smith, Steven Wright leading the side in his absence.
