Clinic offering free advice to GNR charity runners

-

THERE’S just over a month to go until the Great North Run, so if you’re taking part you better be training.

All those miles pounding the pavements can really take it out on your legs.

But Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic is offering charity runners free access to specialist advice at its clinics in Saville Place, Newcastle city centre and Towers Avenue in Jesmond.

Karen Dearden, Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic director, said: “For 2018 Great North Run charity runners, we are offering a free 15-minute advice session to each runner, during which they can talk to one of our therapists to discuss their current training, any running injuries they are suffering from and, where necessary, receive information on any further treatment they require.

“We are also offering free foot screening and footwear advice to charity runners.”

Free telephone advice and foot screening appointments for charity runners are available until 5pm on Wednesday, September 5, and are subject to availability.

Runners are asked to inform the clinic at the time of booking that they are running for charity, and to bring evidence of their charity place along to their appointment.

In the days leading up to the 2018, Simply Health, Great North Run the Newcastle city centre clinic will be extending its opening hours to offer all runners last minute treatment and advice; Wednesday, Sept 5 (8am8pm), Thursday, Sept 6 (8am-8pm), Friday, Sept 7 (8am-7pm) and Saturday, Sept 8, 9am-5pm.

You can call Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic on 0191 233 0500.
