No unlucky 13 as the Lane are on goal trail

THE start of the new Premier League season saw Leam Lane WMC hit double figures with a 13-2 win over Highwayman.

Jonathan Hirst scored three times, Connor Halpin and Kyle Moffitt both netted twice, the remaining counters from Joe Mole, Curtis Woof, Carl Taylor, Peter Mulholland, Bradley Nicholson and an own goal.

The Highwayman’s efforts also came from an own goal as well as a strike from David Kings.

Last season’s champions Belle Vue were 4-1 victors over Crawcrook Albion.

Dylan Howourth claimed a treble and Gary Browne grabbed the other for Belle Vue. Nathan Shepard hit a screamer for Albion’s only reply.

Whickham Coachman were 8-0 winners against Birtley Hanlon.

Brothers Eddy and Chris Keenan both bagged braces, the others from Craig Cavanagh, Barry Latimer, Andrew Davidson and Stephen Hall.

Fiddlers Three prevailed 5-1 against Sheriff Hill Three Tuns thanks to a Chris Laws hat-trick.

Strikes from Dean Kirtley and Paul Donnelly wrapped up the points, David Hawkins netting for The Tuns.

Stormont Main went nap in their 5-0 success at newly-promoted Thomas Wilson.

Danny Young and Liam McVicar both notched twice, James Turnbull completing the tally.

In Division One, Whickham Bay Horse were the weekend’s top scorers when they trounced Clara Vale 13-0.

Mark Cooper, Lewis McKie and Ryan Cowan all celebrated doubles, Ben Jones, Michael Robson, Lee Robinson, Chris Scott and Peter Grugan also registerin­g.

Vale’s misery was completed by scoring two own goals.

Also hitting double figures were Allerdene, triumphing 10-1 at Felling CC. Kieran McPherson hit a hattrick, Scott Alexander and Joe Turnbull nabbing doublrs.

Martin Summersatt, Paul Hargreaves and Louis Tiplady completed the rout. David Simpson claimed Felling’s consolatio­n.

Saltwell were 4-0 winners at Holmeside. Jordan David registered two efforts, Kendjo Zadjo and Kieran Molloy also on the mark.

Nursery House enjoyed a 3-0 verdict against Leam Lane Rangers.

David Reay struck twice with Dan Newton also on target.

Teams Club came through 3-1 against Gateshead Three Tuns thanks to Nicki Gibson, Leon Watson and Rhys Glasgow.
