DRESSED to impress

WHICH CELEBRITIES EARNED STYLE POINTS THIS WEEK?

-

YOU know summer is pretty much over when the big guns of the autumn TV schedules land on our screens. So the glittering launch of Strictly Come Dancing on Monday night was your cue to pack away your shorts and sandals for another year.

This year’s dancing hopefuls slapped on the fake tan and sequins for the dazzling photocall at the Beeb’s Broadcasting House, while judges Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas, alongside hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, also dressed up to the nines.

Of course Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood were there too but there’s not much you can say about a dinner suit.

Former ballerina Darcey, 49, shimmied down the stage in a beautiful floor-length fuchsia gown with a fishtail hem and train which attached to her wrist. Head judge Shirley, meanwhile, opted for a white halterneck number with a beaded cape-effect overlay.

Not to be outdone, Tess, 49 (yes we can hardly believe she is nearly 50 either), shimmered in a silver sequined satin and tulle body-con midi dress by Galvan which showed off her toned and tanned arms.

Perhaps fearful of sequin overload, co-host Claudia, 46, pared things right back in a black tuxedo suit with cropped trousers.

If you like it – and we really do – you’ll be delighted to learn it’s from good old Zara and you can get the jacket and trousers for less than £100. Those Louboutins will set you back a bit though...
