Take a look at revamped Juke

- By STEVE HUGHES

INTENSE competition in the most popular crossover sector of the car market has prompted Nissan to revise its Juke model, which is made in the North East.

Crossovers and small SUVs have replaced the traditional best-selling saloon, hatchback and estate models by combining their various virtues within a single vehicle.

Nissan’s Juke and Qashqai models are generally recognised as the creators of this market, which has caused a tidal wave of newer rivals to flood in.

In order to stay ahead of the pack Nissan has refreshed the Juke range, which goes on sale with a new look and equipment from today.

The changes are designed to create a contemporary new look for the Juke’s front end in particular.

They include a new dark chrome V-motion grille, dark headlamp interior and dark turn indicators on the door mirrors. LED fog lamps are now standard from Acenta grade.

Two new 16-inch alloy wheel designs have been added to the Acenta grade and Bose Personal Edition grade.

Optional 18-inch alloy wheels on Tekna grade can be personalised with coloured inserts, including two new colours.

Coloured body parts, including front and rear bumper finishers, doors side sills and wing mirror caps are available through the personalisation programme. This is standard on Bose Personal Edition grade and an optional extra on the Tekna grade.

Two new eye-catching body colours of Vivid Blue and Chestnut Bronze are added.

There is a new sound system to improve the appeal of the vehicle to younger buyers.

Called BOSE Personal audio, it delivers an immersive 360° listening experience through BOSE digital signal processing and half a dozen high-performance speakers.

Enhancements to the interior include two new colours of Energy Orange and Power Blue. There is also a higher grade of leather on the steering wheel, plus a new white-on-black information display.

The new Juke is offered in trim and equipment grades of Visia, Acenta, Bose Personal Edition and Tekna, with each model having air-conditioning, electrically adjusting door mirrors, front and rear power windows, CD audio unit with aux port and LED day-time running lights as standard.
