Aarons aiming to impress on his Czech loan

ROLANDO Aarons has vowed to let his football do the talking during his loan stint with Slovan Liberec.

The speedy winger joined the Czech outfit last week on loan until the end of December but it remains to be seen if he makes his debut this weekend against Dukla Prague.

Rafa Benitez opted to leave him out of his 25-man squad for the Premier League season but is set to keep an eye on his performances in eastern Europe.

Aarons said: “I hate talking too much and I prefer when my performances to speak for me.

“I hope to help Slovan Liberec. I need mainly game practice now, so I am grateful for the chance to play for Slovan for the first half of the season.

“I look forward to a new experience!

“What can they expect from me? I am a fast player. I can play the wing on both sides, but also through the middle.

“Of course I like to score goals, but I like to give assists too. I am trying to be helpful to the team.”

Aarons, who spent last season playing in Serie A for Hellas Verona, is now settling into a new city in the Czech Republic.

He added: “I did not have much information about Czech football but I came here to look with my agent last week and he assured me there are good conditions for football here.

“Slovan have an interesting stadium and Liberec is a nice city.”

Slovan Liberec boss Zsolt Hornyák is also keen to make the most of what has been deemed an unexpected arrival from the Premier League.

After handing Aarons the number 26 shirt, he said: “We want to make use of his qualities and experience from the Premier League.

“I believe he will adapt quickly and will be available as soon as possible.

“I hope he will help our offensive united but he will definitely get his shot in the first team with us.”

Should Aarons miss out this weekend against Dukla Prague, Slovan’s next game is away to Sparta Prague in one of the biggest games of the season.
