- BY SIMON DUKE

IT’S already had loads of visitors through the doors since its opening last month and STACK is sure to attract plenty more when it hosts a big event for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

STACK Newcastle opened on Pilgrim Street in the middle of August, with locals and visitors alike flocking to sample everything from gin to fish & chips and now various traders are joining forces to raise money for the cancer care charity.

The ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event raised a whopping £27 million last year alone and in total has raised over £200 million for Macmillan Cancer Support since it began.

STACK’s participation will see their vendors, along with STACK themselves, bake a selection of delicious cakes and bakes to sell, giving all money raised to Macmillan from the STACK family. Some of the container village’s favourite vendors including; Pet Stop, Beer Box, Sushi Me Rollin,’ Manchua Bubble Tea, Longsands, The Bake One and Eatali will be participating, providing a selection of bakes, including beer cakes from the international award-winning Beer Box and a family friendly atmosphere, all for a good cause.

Kevin Walker, Danieli Holding’s Operations Director, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Macmillan coffee morning.

“It gives all of our retailers the opportunity to help raise some money for this worthwhile cause.”

If you’d like to show your support for Macmillan at STACK, the coffee morning will be held within STACK’s plaza area on Friday, September 28, from 10am until 4pm.

Erin Fairley, Macmillan fundraising manager for Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside, added: “We are delighted STACK are supporting Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this year, it is fantastic to have such a big event in the heart of the city centre. This support will make a big difference to our fundraising and awareness in the Newcastle area, and will enable us to help more people live life with cancer”
