Decision day is looming for Fund hopefuls

-

NEXT month we will announce the winners of the Venator Together Fund, with 40 local groups each picking up a £250 share of the £10,000 grant pot.

More than 100 sports teams and community groups from around the North East are still in the running to win a grant from the fund.

Thousands of votes have already been cast and after the public voting closes on September 30 the 40 projects with the most support will each be awarded a grant.

Venator, a Wynyard-based company, launched the Together Fund - the first of two community funds – in a bid to support grassroots sports clubs with activities or equipment which inspire teamwork, one of the company’s core values.

Karen Fenwick, Vice-President, Corporate Branding and Communications at Venator, said: “It has been fantastic to see so many people from all over the North East voting for their favourite sports clubs and community groups

“We have had great applications and now we are really excited to be so close to awarding our first Together Fund grants to the top 40 most-voted-for projects.”

Venator is a New York Stock Exchange-listed global business with a site in Birtley.

The company launched its £20,000 Community Fund to support the communities in which its employees live and work.

The Together Fund is the first to be unveiled, with a second fund aimed at supporting innovation to be announced in early 2019.
