Come and support shelter’s work with fun-filled events

-

WE have a very busy few weeks ahead of us with lots of events coming up. We will be out and about in the community visiting lots of different schools and groups to talk about our work.

This month also includes our Charity Night at Forest Hall Workingmen’s Social Club on Saturday, October 20 where we will have the fantastic Dan Reynard performing for us.

Tickets are only £5 per person, all proceeds come to the charity to help us to fund our work, as we don’t receive any government funding and we rely solely on public donations. Tickets can be purchased from our Benton shelter, our charity shops on Chillingham Road and Wallsend High Street as well as the Forest Hall club itself. Contact us on 0191 215 0435 for more information about the event.

Exactly one week later – on Saturday October 27 – is our annual Spooky Spectacular at Benton North Farm between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Entry is free, and it is a fantastic few hours for both the adults and the kids.

Our famous Haunted House will be back if you are feeling brave enough to take a walk through.

Over the past few weeks we have seen a huge increase in the number of abandoned kittens coming in to us and we are now in desperate need of kitten food to keep their tummies full.

Donations can be dropped off at either of our shelters, charity shops or

at any of our food bins in local supermarkets.

We are so appreciative of your help and support; all donations go a long way to helping our animals and for that we couldn’t thank you enough.

As the colder weather is now in full swing, we are appealing for monetary donations to help us fund our evergrowing heating bills. It is so important that our animals are kept warm, especially our younger, older and more fragile residents.

Can you help us to help them by even just donating £5? For more information on how to donate, please call 0191 215 0435.

We can also put carpet cut-offs to good use as they are amazing to put in our kennels and cat pens to keep our residents as cosy as possible. If you have anything you could donate, we will gratefully accept.

ANIMALS FOR HOMES

Apple, cat number 239 arrived with us in August of this year. She is a very friendly lady who is happy to be approached and who can often be found sticking her head around the corner to greet you.

She is looking for a home willing to help her get back to a healthy weight as she is overweight at the moment. She needs a home that will encourage her to keep moving, this could be through play, and where she can have access to the outside.

Apple is a very affectionate cat who will make a lovely companion for someone who is able to resist her cute eyes as she asks for more treats.

Eric, cat number 236, also arrived at the shelter in August 2018. He likes to hide when first approached by new people but once he feels comfortable he will come out and look for attention from you.

He is looking for a home where he can have access to the outdoors and space if he feels that he wants it.

Eric is a lovely, boisterous, playful cat once he is comfortable around you. He can hide and shy away if he is unsure of you, so time and space for him to come around on his own may be needed.

Eric has a big personality and he is a pleasure to be around.

He is affectionate and demanding of attention once he knows you.
