Magpies and Forest Hall lead the way on a day of high scoring

THERE were plenty of goals in the handful of games played.

Six came at Felling Magpies as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Forest Hall.

The visitors earneda share of the spoils with a second-half double from Tony Woods after they had gone ahead through Harry Johnson.

Andy Marley had opened the scoring early on while a Chris Daley penalty and Tony Harbison’s strike kept the game flowing.

A Kane Chirnside hat-trick helped lowly Wallsend Community to a comfortabl­e 4-1 victory at home to mid-table Seaton Burn, Callum Hewitson with the other counter and Reece Haslett replying.

There were five goals at Hebburn as the Under-23s were edged by visitors Winlaton 3-2.

Jack Moulding bagged a Vulcans’ brace alongside Kieran Barker’s effort while Jordan Reed and Jonathon McGreary also notched.

The game at Prudhoe YC was abandoned minutes from time with visitors Cullercoat­s 4-1 to the good while other sides were on Northumber­land Minor Cup duty. Bedlington won 6-1 at Jesmond and Blyth Spartans Reserves defeated Ashington Town Miners 11-2.

Hexham triumphed 4-1 at Cullercoat­s Under-23s courtesy of a Marc Nixon double and one each for Vinny Proudlock and Kurtis Harvey.

Gosforth Bohemians claimed a 6-0 win at Wallsend Boys Developmen­t, Alex Kennedy firing a four-goal salvo along with strikes from Liam Riley and Mark Wright.

Blyth Town tamed Newcastle West End Tigers 7-0, Jak Ditchburn with a double.

Braces from Marc Nixon and Kevin Bell helped Red Row Welfare to a 6-1 victory over Bebside United.

Liam Anderson helped himself to four goals in the remaining cup tie as Wallsend Boys Club blitzed visitors Newcastle Medicals for ten without reply.

He was joined on the scoresheet in a comfortabl­e win by a Charlie Watson hat-trick, two for Rob Woods and a further counter from Steven Buzzeo.
