Samba not dancing after loss to Saints

THERE were goals galore in the Premier Dvision, Consett Saint Patrick’s leading the way as they put seven past Sunderland Samba ithout reply.

Michael Hogg fired Saints on their way after 20 minutes.

David Parker made it 2-0 after half an hour and then 3-0 straight from the kick-off in the second period.

Anthony Donaghy also bagged a pair after the hour and in the last minute, while in between those strikes Peter Price and Scott Sommervile netted.

At Druid Park, Saint Charles RC Church Gosforth hosted leaders Stockton Churches Portrack - but went down 7-1.

After just eight minutes Marc Dawson found himself one on one with the Saints’ goalkeeper before slotting the ball past him.

Saint Charles had no time to clear their heads before they were 2-0 down through Lee Twizell, but did pull a goal back courtesy of Declan Stokle after 20 minutes.

Dawson then grabbed his second, Phil Swash adding a fourth on 41 minutes.

Saint Charles started brightly in the second period but just before the hour Dawson completed his hat-trick and Twizell claimed his second of the game.

The Teessiders were then awarded a penalty, Dan Rigby rounding off the scoring from the spot.

Portrack held on to top spot and kept their 100% record intact with this impressive victory.

Hillsong Newcastle moved into second with a 3-1 success at home to Jesmond Parish Church.

It was the 62nd minute before the deadlock was broken in a tight match, Anthony Henderson shooting Jesmond in front.

Hillsong turned the game round in the space of seven minutes, Jaddai Kembaya notching on 78 and 85 minutes and Matt Chambers on 80 minutes.

In Division One, Stockton Salvation Army maintained their 100% record with a 5-1 verdict against YAV SIFF - their fourth win in a row.

Nathan Wilson was first to score after 30 minutes to give the Teessiders a 1-0 half-time lead.

Rory Sawyer then made it 2-0 with the first of his hat-trick of goals, his second coming on 66 minutes.,

Three counters thern arrived in three minutes - Tom Pilkington for Army, Joe Sharp for YAV and then Sawyers’ third.

Blyth Family Church played Heaton Saints and the match was over in 30 minutes, with two players taking the plaudits.

Neil Nelson opened the scoring in the ninth minute for Blyth.

David Wilde equalised 12 minutes later but Nelson then restored Blyth’s advantage on 28 minutes before adding his second 60 seconds later.

On Teesside, Jubilee Family Church Teesside took on Saint John’s Snod’s Edge.

With the game looking to reach half-time goalless, Chris Onyedimna took a chance to fire Jubilee into the lead.

Saint John’s went looking for the equaliser after the break - but Steven Sykes sneaked in eght minutes from the end to wrap up the match and seal a 2-0 success for Family Church.
