Fangtastic family fun!

-

VISITORS to the Ford & Etal Estates may notice something of a transformation towards the end of the month as the villages display an array of spooktacular ‘scarycrows’ – weird, wacky, funny and spooky ‘scarecrows’ make up the now-famous ‘scarycrow trail’ that visitors can follow around the estates as part of the annual Halloween celebrations.

Ford & Etal is a privately-owned country estate in the far north of Northumberland, some 16,500 acres of rolling countryside nestled between the Scottish border, the Cheviot hills and the Northumbrian coastline and centred round picturesque villages.

Boasting a range of visitor attractions including a steam railway, a heavy horse centre, a restored working Victorian cornmill, a 19th-century old school building housing unique watercolour murals, the famous Flodden Battlefield, outdoor activities, traditional tearooms and the only thatched pub in the county - Ford & Etal offers a great day out, whatever your age or interest, and whatever the weather.

Events and activities take place throughout the year, not least at Halloween. From bat hunts on the Railway to spooky horse-drawn carriage rides, kids’ baking sessions during the day and an evening of ghost stories at the Mill, quizzes, fancy dress, themed refreshments and much more you’re sure to enjoy fangtastic fun!
